Building a Fire for FHE

We had our Family Home Evening tonight and the girls have really wanted to build a fire in our fireplace.  So we did.  And Gina gave a sweet lesson on the importance of fathers in preparation for Father’s Day – I’m so blessed!

Here are some pics of our evening:

Our Refurbished Teal Bench

We bought a few furniture pieces when we moved into our “Cottage By The Green” (that’s what we’ve decided to call it :)) which included a very sturdy, although weather beaten, white bench.

The girls have been using it as their dinner table chair which works out great for them.  But it was really rough, so we always had to cover it with a blanket – and it didn’t look great.

So Gina was sick this weekend, so I took the girls to my in-laws’ (Tanya and Alden Brown) house in Pleasant Grove and worked.  Here are some pics of the results – we think they turned out great!

A special thanks to my father-in-law for having every tool under the sun, and letting me use them!  Thanks Alden!
